Dana Vocal Performance Clinic
The Dana Vocal Performance Clinic is an intensive workshop that explores the world of singing, acting, and performing. This program promotes a friendly atmosphere in which students can begin to learn the basics of becoming an effective singing-actor. The clinic is open to all students who will be in high school, or college freshmen, during the 2008-2009 school year. Dates: July 25 through August 1, 2008. The application is available in HTML format. Perform - One of the best ways to become comfortable on the theater or the concert stage is to spend time performing. At the Dana Vocal Performance Clinic, students learn to take command of their performance abilities through daily master classes, concerts, seminars, and recitals. The Clinic will culminate in two elaborate gala concerts, one Musical Review and one Classical Music. Students will perform solos, ensembles, and choral works in this black-tie affair. Learn - In addition to extensive performing opportunities, students will learn the skills necessary to become effective musicians. Students will receive personal vocal instruction, acting lessons, and dancing/ movement classes. Daily learning sessions will include topics which young singers can readily apply to their musical performances. Topics to be covered: Auditioning Technique, How to learn a song, Vocal health, Music theory/ history, Vocal literature, Song interpretation, Stage combat/ Stage makeup, Listening guide.
